Witness statement:

I was at a location in downtown Paradise, taking out the trash. I was walking beside the building (down an alleyway) to the dumpster. I just happened to look up, and just at that instant, I saw several craft in formation (there were at least 5--possibly 6 or 7 of them) go over directly overhead, from east to west. It was partly cloudy, and due to the building, I had a narrow view of the sky as well. So I only saw them for an instant, as they were traveling faster than anything I've ever seen! They appeared to be triangular, somewhat of a delta, or wing shape (wider than they were long). I can't even guess how high they were, but they appeared to be above, or going through the clouds. In terms of size, if you were to take a ruler and hold it to the sky at arm's length, their wing-span would perhaps cover 2 to 2.5 inches. They were a pale, milky-white color, and I thought they appeared a bit transparent. The first thing that entered my mind were birds, but then I thought, "no--they were too fast and appeared to large, and I didn't perceive any flapping of wings." Also, there was absolutely no sound--before, during or after. Although I'm a UFO buff, after this sighting, I just went about my business, not giving it much thought--almost as if my mind "shorted out," perhaps not fully believing what I saw! I didn't even note the exact date and time! Very unlike me! But, like I said, it was a very fast occurrence--literally a split-second!

Additional notes:

No other witnesses have come forward, and no other reports are available in this case. Except to document the event, there's not much else to investigate, pending further information. It's worth noting, that Beale Air Force Base is approximately 50 miles from this sighting, and from the "delta" shape described, it is likely that this may have been some sort of advanced (ie, top secret) military craft. (It is believed that there are no Stealth fighters or bombers stationed at Beale.)

Report written by us based on published account (this not a direct witness statement):

Object was seen by multiple (at least 5) witnesses in Feather River Canyon (East of Paradise). The object hovered, then rotated to one side, then moved a few yards and again hovered. The object had individual red lights encircling it, and had a white light which was shining downwards from the center. When it flew out of the canyon, it remained on it's side. The object made absolutely no sound. At least 3 other witnesses saw the same object from 2 other locations in Paradise, and at least 3 witnesses saw the object from the neighboring city of Chico. At this time, no other information is available.

Report of yellow-orange light hovering over dry cleaner's at Skyway and Pearson [this would be looking West]. Location checked, nothing unusual noted.

An unidentified witness called the Paradise Police Dept. to report he was driving on Pearson Road and looking at the moon, when he saw a blue object flying in a horizontal direction, at the speed of a falling star. It was iridescent and had a flaming vapor trail. The next morning another unidentified witness called the Police Dept., and reported that he and his girlfriend witnessed a green light hovering above the trees at about the same time (8:00 PM). He said it was hard to tell how far away it was, and when they tried to get closer, the object took off straight across the sky, leaving a green trail. Police advised the caller to contact the National Weather Service about any sightings.
